Revitalising Cornwall Airport Newquay with a bold new brand identity
Cornwall Airport Newquay's ambition to become a leading lifestyle destination and "airportal" in the South West has been a dynamic and collaborative process founded on an ongoing partnership with Brand Biscuit Studio. During the last eighteen months, we’ve become more than just a creative agency, we've become deeply invested partners and an extension of CAN's dedicated local team, driven by a shared vision and a genuine passion for the brand’s evolution and the airport’s success.
At the heart of our collaboration was a mission to humanise CAN, to connect with passengers on a personal level during a period of significant growth and change. Our "Blue Monday" campaign in January 2024 gave passengers a first glimpse into the broader brand refresh and showcased our new approach. We introduced some playfulness and positive messaging to combat the winter blues and with a touch of warmth and escapism (featuring a relatable granny enjoying a sun-soaked holiday) we tapped into the emotional desire for connection and adventure, resulting in a remarkable surge in engagement and tangible results.
The numbers speak for themselves: over 500,000 impressions, 7,000 website clicks, and a significant boost in newsletter sign-ups. This early campaign success validated our belief in the power of authentic, emotionally resonant storytelling which we were able to build upon and elevate further during 2024.
But our commitment to CAN has extended far beyond a single campaign and brand refresh. We've woven the new brand narrative into the very fabric of the airport, from vibrant illustrative murals in the upgraded arrivals and departures areas, to thoughtful refinements in staff uniforms. We've crafted fun and compelling materials for the Royal Cornwall Show, designed impactful print adverts, and even contributed to the magic of the local Hall for Cornwall pantomime. Each project, large or small, reflects our dedication to CAN's success and our understanding of its unique identity.
Over the last year and a half, our role has evolved from creative agency to trusted external team members. We've become CAN's go-to partner, handling everything from strategic branding to ad-hoc creative requests, drawing on our diverse team's expertise in brand strategy, design, photography, videography, and copywriting. This holistic approach allows us to truly understand CAN's needs and aspirations, ensuring that every piece of work we deliver is aligned with their vision.
